Itemic (Dresden/Germany) is looking for an experienced Senior Database Software Engineer with database internal experience, to develop and maintain database engines.
Your Role
- Evaluate, design, develop and test solutions to address business needs
- Maintain and troubleshoot database components
- Review components for performance optimisation
- Coordinate with business owners and application developers to provide technical and business solutions
- Provide second level escalation support for production and operation teams
- Develop migration and update concepts
Your Profile
- Degree in computer science or comparable
- 5+ years experience in physical and logical database design
- 5+ years experience with SQL, stored procedures (preferably ORACLE RDBMS)
- 2+ years experience with Java (JDBC, Hibernate) development
- Proven track record in high-transaction, high-volume, high-availability (24/7/365) ORACLE Server environment(s)
- Experienced in physical and logical design of medium-to-large databases (50-100GB+)
- Experienced in database migration concepts
- Database operations experience is a plus
- Experience with multi-lingual and/or Unicode data is a plus
