Overview

ALERTING | Alarm- /Failuremanagement

TARGOSSTM FACTORYY MES provides an alarm management as distributed failure management. Alarms can be classified and individually assigned to user terminals.
Once configured, alarms show up on those terminals and can be acknowledged there as well.

In principle all kinds of equipment alarms can be represented on the operator terminals (e.g. Flexi Clients). But in practice usually only those alarms are configured, which may cause production breakdown. This could be a status change of equipment or a situation, which requires operator presence at the equipment.

Alarms are classified into categories (e.g. on severity, security, mechanical issues, lack of resources). Usually the equipments already deliver a pre-categorization. It is task of the specification phase to align with customer, what categories are to be applied.

The MES provides analyses to represent the occurrence of alarms in table format and graphical reports. All analysis results can be filtered by time and/or context (e.g. equipment, alarm category).
