Overview
FACTORYY MES | Manufacturing Execution System
In times of dynamic changes caused by the continuing globalisation of products and trading, ever-more complex, inter-company processes result. It is necessary to map such processes in IT system landscapes as parts of a cohesive whole. Previously, companies invested primarily in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, however, with the disadvantage that these run at the commercially-oriented management level (for example, SAP). The actual value-added process, however, does not take place there, but rather in the lower manufacturing level. It is decided here whether an agreed deadline can be met, whether the required quality is achieved and whether all resources (both human and machine) are used in an optimal economic manner. What the ERP lacks is the real-time connection to the actual production process. This gap is filled by a system for the direct production control - a Manufacturing Execution System (MES).
FACTORYY MES provides the connection between the planning and the production level. FACTORYY MES supplies at any time information about the current production situation and so permits fast and appropriate responses to events. The results are effective and economically optimised solutions for the process planning, process control and process tracking.

Functions
FACTORYY MES | Manufacturing Execution System
- Flexible ERP connection
Job data and work steps are taken from the ERP. In the reverse direction, FACTORYY MES returns current production status data to the ERP. For this purpose, Factority provides interfaces to the popular industry ERP systems such as SAP, Navision, Brain and Infor.
- Acquisition and processing of the production data in real-time
FACTORYY MES acquires and processes the data of the production level in real-time. This means the user is always informed about the current actual status of all relevant information of the production process.
- Uniform data basis
All data produced in the production are stored in a uniform database that can be linked with each other as required.
- Complete acquisition of all production and machine data
FACTORYY MES realises the complete acquisition of the job data. The machine data acquisition always informs in real-time about the current production status. The resulting data can be used to produce realistic capacity reports, trends, run time and status analyses, and determine key performance indicators. The machine communication is made using hardware-independent interfaces and so ensures the integration of the company's plants and machines.
- System-independent, modular design
FACTORYY MES supports not only many system platforms of the Windows and UNIX/Linux world, but also many relational database systems. The modular design makes the complexity of the MES system customised specifically to the current requirements of the associated company. Additional functions and modules can be added at any time.
- Individual solutions
No manufacturing company is the same as any other one. The MES Framework architecure allows FACTORYY to be extended to meet the special requirements of your production processes. In most cases, existing individual solutions can be incorporated without problem.
- Data transfer to the quality assurance, maintenance, reporting and controlling
FACTORYY MES supplies all required information for producing reports in systems for the quality assurance, maintenance, reporting and controlling.
