Overview
INSIDE-SPS | Standardised PLC
Previously, the PLC programming and the PLC connection to the higher-level systems was not subject to any single standard. This means inflexible PLC individual solutions and the impaired connection of the production level to higher-level systems(control room, MES) are common in industry.
With "Inside-SPS", the itemic AG standardises the storage layout of PLC modules, offers open interfaces for an intuitive programming and so simplifies the connection of the production level.
Inside-SPS runs as configuration software and communications protocol. It so acts as an interface between the machine constructor, the PLC and software programmers. The Inside-SPS software creates a base configuration on an empty PLC. This configuration already contains an executable program with the standard functions of a plant (operating modes, setup operation, recipe management, etc.). This avoids fully the need for routine work involved with the PLC setup.
To optimally describe the overall functionality of the plant, the base program is augmented at predefined locations with the machine-specific sequence control. Machines of any complexity can be programmed and controlled uniformly using this principle. Higher-level software systems (control room, MES) use the standardised interface to interact directly in the PLC. This makes the integration in the control and planning software child's play.
Inside-SPS runs without problem on the Siemens SIMATIC S7. The open specification permits the adaptation to all PLC products on the market.
