Overview

MACHINE CONTROL | Machine Control by Terminal

The visualisation and operation of the system is done via terminals. MES-terminals are usually executed as reasonably priced Thin-Clients and are directly controled by the server.

The terminals can display all operating modes of the automatisation and the processing equipment, the status of the sensors and actuators as well as fault reports. The operation of the device is also possible if necessary (buttons, set-point adjustments, axis settings, etc.). By giving the operator certain points for processing, the terminals support the material tracking. At any time, the operator is able to receive detailed information on an identifiable object from the MES, i.e. detailed information on products currently in circulation in the processing machines with relation to the production order.

The following functions can be executed by a terminal:

  • Visualisation of system status
  • Identification of working, process and other materials
  • System controlling
  • Classification of faults
  • Classification of operating modes
  • Input masks for manual workplaces
  • Lots to be processed
  • Lots in Prioritised order
  • Display of additional information
  • Display of reports and statistics

MES-terminals can be available at each machine, but one terminal can also be used with several machines.
